Partnership Accountant

Pentagon Talent is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a prestigious global law firm for a Partnership Accountant to join their Partnership Accounts team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. About the Role

As a Partnership Accountant in London, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of partner accounting, including timely partner distributions and monthly drawings. You will collaborate closely with finance managers, partners, and the wider finance team, providing essential support in a variety of tasks.

Key Responsibilities for the Partnership Accountant:

• Updating the distribution model and notifying finance managers and partners of payments.
• Posting distribution journals and reconciling distribution records.
• Managing monthly drawings cycle, including setting up payment schedules, posting journals, and reconciliation.
• Overseeing Partnership Accounts matters for partners across different countries.
• Preparing cashflows for lateral hires and leavers, reviewing financial aspects of offer and leaving terms.
• Sending annual profit and tax statements to partners and responding to queries.

About You:

To be successful in this role, the Partnership Accountant should have:

• An accounting qualification (or relevant equivalent experience).
• Prior Partnership Accounting experience gained within the legal sector or similar LLP structured organisation.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• The ability to work independently and proactively.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong Excel skills and a practical, common-sense approach.
• Confidence to interact with stakeholders at all levels within the firm.
