Financial Accountant - Reading - Hybrid Working - Up to £70k

Pentagon Talent is excited to be exlclusively partnering with a leading law firm in their search for a Financial Accountant to join their Finance team in Reading. This is a fantastic opportunity for a fully qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA professional with 1-3 years post-qualification experience who is looking to make their first move from audit or financial accounts into industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monthly financial reporting & analysis - supporting timely MI production.

• Balance sheet reconciliations - managing fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, and partner accounts.

• Liaising with external stakeholders - including banks and auditors.

• Variance analysis & cost control - ensuring financial accuracy and budget accountability.

• Supporting audits & compliance - including VAT returns and HMRC inspections.

• Enhancing financial processes - contributing to forecasting, profitability analysis, and accounting policy reviews.

Who We're Looking For:

• Fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with 1-3 years post-qualification experience.

• Ideally coming from an audit background, looking for a step into industry.

• Strong technical knowledge of financial accounting standards and VAT rules.

• Excellent Excel and IT skills.

• A proactive individual with great communication and organisational skills.

This is a permanent full-time role (9:00am - 5:00pm) based in Reading, with occasional travel to London and a flexible hybrid working arrangement.
