  • To assist the Head of Department in keeping track of the Departmental budget by: o Advising on the annual Budget Request o Maintaining the departmental financial records in liaison with the Head of Department o Placing orders, checking deliveries and invoices
  • To provide assistance and guidance for teaching staff if the need arises. Any duties reasonably required by the line manager.

As part of being an integral member of the legal cashier team based in the London standing office, there will be a focus to liaise with the partners, fee earners and secretaries of the firm to ensure queries are dealt with, in a timely manner. Duties/Responsibilities of the Legal Cashier

  • Processing daily cash allocations for the UK office for both UK, US and Euro accounts to ensure they comply with the SAR regulations and company policies
  • Reconciling the bank on a daily basis, ensuring the fees are posted and reconciled in a timely manner
  • Completing the month end bank reconciliations for both office and client account
  • Ensuring that out of date account cheques are cancelled and followed up with as per the company protocol
  • Completing the partners drawings and distribution postings which must include the bank file uploads

  • Posting the cash for both, bank charges and direct debits

This is an outstanding opportunity for an Audit & Accounts Senior to work with a varied client base and progress their career in the Accountancy Practice market, the role will comprise of 50/50 split between Audit and Accounts working across a range of different sectors.

You will be involved in leading audits from start to completion long with the preparation of statutory accounts and work in the preparation of tax computations.

The role will require you to:

  • Lead audits from initial planning meeting through to completion
  • Overseeing audit planning, field work and audit reporting
  • Allocate and review the work of juniors whilst carrying out work on client sites
  • Liaising closely with client on a regular basis and ensuring Manager and Partners are kept updated
  • To ensure work and projects are completed within reasonable and realistic time frames
  • Prepare Statutory Accounts and some Tax computation work

The ideal Audit & Accounts Senior candidate will possess:

  • Have previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment
  • ACA/ACCA qualified or be qualified by experience
  • Previous experience working within audit
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work to tight deadlines
