Food Safety and Hygiene/Presentation

  • Display all food and beverages in a neat and appealing way at the service counter.
  • Ensure that the, serving area and seating areas are clean and tidy at all times including sweeping and mopping at the end of each shift.
  • Ensure the café is set up at the beginning of each shift, ensuring all cutleries and condiments are in place and the serving area is clean and tidy.
  • Familiarise yourself with food and drink ingredients especially in connection with food allergies, seeking assistance from chef and senior catering assistant as needed.
  • Check the float daily before use; cash up at the end of shift, reconcile income with the cash registers and ensure security of income; follow YMCA Cash Handling Policy.
  • Maintain accurate receipting and accounting of all monies and credit transactions taken whilst on duty.
  • Respect the Christian ethos of the YMCA and uphold its values.

Morgan Hunt are currently working with a well-established Independent Regulatory Body, in their search for a permanent Risk Assurance Officer to manage risk across the business with a focus on the Risk Management system.

You will be responsible for liaising with and advising risk owners (particularly Senior Stakeholders), as well as producing detailed reports and presenting information to the Board and relevant Committees (such as the Audit Committee).

You will also be responsible for conducting 'deep dives' in order to understand and mitigate risk, and will be responsible for anticipating future risk through liaising with internal stakeholders and wider networks

You will be responsible for managing policies, procedures and ensuring that this falls in-line with best practice procedures as outlined in the Civil Service Standards, as well as providing effective risk management through guidance and training.

The successful candidate must have experience within risk management and/or audit within the Public Sector, and be fully or part qualified. They will have strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with senior stakeholders and wider networks of risk professionals.

You must also have strong IT literacy, excellent organisation and multi-tasking skills and strong numerical and analytical skills.

This role will be fully remote role, with expensed attendance to the London Office depending on business requirement. About the role as a Financial Accountant:

As an accountant, some of the key results for the role include:

  • The timely production of statutory accounts for the Group and its subsidiaries. To ensure they are compliant with FRS 102 and the Accounting Direction, and also in line with best practice, and present a consistent, coherent and fair representation of the organisation.
  • Prepare and manage the preparation of audit working papers for the year end audit, including agreeing format of working papers and other audit requirements.
  • Liaise with external auditors as needed, and to ensure information requirements are met in a timely manner.
  • To review and challenge the controls in place that mitigate risks. Consider alternative controls and process to achieve the target risk scores.
  • Processing of month end journals as required.
  • Maintain balance sheet controls and reconciliations as appropriate.

2. Experience in a education or other public sector organisation managing creative design projects from initial brief to finished product.

3. Experience using latest graphic design packages including In-Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, website packages.

4. Strong creative ability and passion for design, and demonstrates an excellent understanding of the role of design in building brand and customer engagement and driving sales.

5. Experience of working in a fast-paced environment and ability to respond to design briefs quickly and responsively and work on multiple projects and deliver work to deadline

6. Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to brief and update others and adapt their style as and when necessary.

7. An understanding of the latest print formats and techniques and experience in working with printers and other design suppliers.

8. A good understanding of the role of accessibility in design for print and digital platforms.
