
Legal Cashier
Pentagon Talent are working on an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Cashier to join a leading international law firm in their London office on a hybrid working basis.
This key role sits within the firm's international cashiering team and is essential to ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of client account transactions across the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for safeguarding client funds in line with the SRA Accounts Rules and maintaining high standards of financial compliance.
Key Responsibilities for the Legal Cashier:
- Accurately process all client account transactions, including receipts, transfers, and disbursements.
- Ensure strict compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules and internal client money controls.
- Monitor and reconcile client accounts daily, investigating and resolving any discrepancies promptly.
- Work closely with fee earners to ensure client funds are correctly managed throughout each matter.
- Support the management of escrow and designated deposit accounts, including interest calculations and reporting.
- Liaise with banking partners on client account matters, including setting up accounts and handling queries.
- Assist with internal audits, regulatory reviews, and the preparation of financial reports.
- Provide guidance to international offices on client account procedures and compliance.
Key Requirements for the Legal Cashier:
- Demonstrated experience as a Legal Cashier with a strong focus on client account management.
- Excellent working knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules and best practices in handling client money.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a proactive approach to compliance.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues across the firm.
- Experience with escrow arrangements and designated client accounts would be advantageous.
- Exposure to international legal finance operations is desirable.
