Legal Cashier

Pentagon Talent is working with a leading London law firm to recruit an experienced Legal / Office Cashier on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and detail-driven legal finance professional to join a well-established finance team within a respected legal environment. This role will be based in their London office in the West End for 3 days a week.

The Role

This position offers a varied and hands-on cashiering role, supporting day-to-day finance operations and ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules. You will work closely with colleagues across the firm, providing accurate and timely financial support.

Key Responsibilities for the Legal Cashier

• Allocating incoming payments against issued bills
• Responding to cashiering queries from across the business
• Liaising directly with banking providers
• Entering office and disbursement invoices into the practice management system
• Reviewing expense claims to ensure policy compliance
• Processing weekly expense, office and disbursement payment runs (UK and international)
• Managing ad hoc payments
• Monitoring and reconciling the Land Registry suspense account
• Uploading ESB files for client recharges
• Chasing VAT receipts for counsel fees
• Providing team cover and support when required
• Assisting with ad hoc finance duties

Skills & Experience Required for the Legal Cashier

• Previous experience working as a Legal / Office Cashier within a law firm
• Strong and up-to-date knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules
• Experience using 3E is highly desirable
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure
• Proactive, flexible and adaptable approach
