Location: Kensington
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Shift Pattern:
- 3 x 09:00-17:00
- 2 x 05:00-13:00
- 1 x street count shift per month (21:00-02:00)
Pay:
- £15.86 per hour + holiday pay = £17.77 per hour PAYE
- £20.00 per hour via umbrella company
Driving: Being a car driver is desirable but not essential.
We are currently recruiting for an Outreach Worker to join our client's dedicated Kensington Outreach Team. This is a vital role where you will make a direct impact on the lives of rough sleepers, helping them to access essential support and accommodation.
The role will primarily be based in the Kensington area and will involve working both independently and as part of a team to engage with rough sleepers and link them to relevant services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct outreach shifts in pairs and occasionally lone work with risk-assessed individuals.
- Support rough sleepers to access social care services and accommodation.
- Respond promptly to new referrals, conducting needs and risk assessments.
- Maintain and update client records and assessments using the CHAIN database.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies including local authorities, housing providers, healthcare services, police, and drug & alcohol support services.
- Attend community appointments with service users as required.
- Devise and implement personalised action plans for each client.
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS (Child and Adult Workforce) - You must have or be willing to obtain one.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload of complex clients.
- Flexible and responsive to the needs of vulnerable individuals.
- Proficient in IT systems and capable of accurately recording and interpreting data.
- Comfortable working early mornings, late evenings, and occasional night shifts.
- Confident in attending external meetings and liaising with outside agencies.
Desirable:
- Experience in an outreach or homelessness-related role is advantageous.
- Candidates without direct outreach experience will be considered if they have relevant experience in a homelessness or social care setting.
