Chair-Elect & Trustee appointments

Organisation: Lisieux Trust

Location: Birmingham

About Lisieux Trust

Lisieux Trust is a registered charity based in Birmingham, dedicated to enriching the lives of learning-disabled adults and adults on the autism spectrum. Although our services are based around residential and supported living care and accommodation, we provide so much more than a home for our people.

We champion the idea of people with learning disabilities living meaningful lives, so we do everything we can to help them claim their future and independence. With eleven homes situated across Northeast Birmingham, we encourage the people we support to create lives, full of the things that they love and enjoy.

About You

As a Trustee or our Chair-Elect, you'll play a pivotal role in steering Lisieux Trust towards continued success and growth. Your strategic vision and leadership will ensure we remain true to our objectives and responsive to the evolving needs of the communities we serve and changes in the world around us.

You do not need previous experience as a charity trustee to join our board and want to create opportunities for people who bring expertise based on their personal experiences of living with disability or accessing care services.

Who We're Looking For:

We value diversity and are keen to hear from individuals with a range of skills and experiences. Currently, we are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in areas such as:

  • Health, social care delivery and commissioning: An understanding of regulation and quality assurance with the ability to conceptualise risks and opportunities.
  • Safeguarding and human resources: Ensuring the safety and well-being of our beneficiaries is paramount.
  • Service Provision: Strategic experience of managing regulated services.
  • Charity Governance: Understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks within which charities operate.
  • Fundraising and Marketing: Proven ability to cultivate strategic and donor relationships to generate income and increase our reach.

Personal Attributes:

  • Commitment: A genuine passion for people-centred causes and alignment with our values.
  • Integrity: Upholding the highest standards of honesty and ethical behaviour.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team.
  • Innovative Thinking: Willingness to challenge the status quo and contribute to creative solutions.

Time Commitment:

Trustees are expected to attend quarterly board meetings in Birmingham and participate in sub-committees as required. The Chair-Elect will have additional responsibilities, including supporting the current Chair and preparing to assume the Chair role.

Application process:

If you're a values-based leader ready to take on a fulfilling and impactful role, we want to hear from you.

Interested candidates are invited to contact our retained partner, Will Worthington at Morgan Hunt to request the candidate pack and to arrange a briefing call. We will have a rolling deadline and will review applications on a case-by-case basis.

Lisieux Trust is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
