We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Lecturer to join our team in Bedfordshire. This full-time, permanent role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on students' academic success by delivering engaging and high-quality English education.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, deliver, and assess English courses, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning
- Support and guide students, providing constructive feedback and fostering progress
- Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, and engaging learning materials for English
- Monitor and record student progress, conduct tutorials, and provide detailed reports
- Contribute to curriculum development and create opportunities for extended learning
- Maintain an engaging and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation
- Uphold the Student Code of Conduct and ensure a safe, supportive learning atmosphere
- Participate in student interviews, open days, and other marketing activities
- Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health and safety
Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
- A degree in English or a related subject
- Certificate in Education/PGCE or willingness to achieve
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (grades A-C)
- Recent experience teaching and assessing GCSE English
- Knowledge of current developments in English education

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
