Animal Management Technician & Teaching Assistant (Part-Time)
Location: Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex
Salary: Up to £25,469 per annum (pro rata, depending on experience)
Contract Type: Permanent, Part-Time
Morgan Hunt is pleased to be partnering with a well-regarded further education college in East Sussex to recruit two part-time Animal Management Technicians & Teaching Assistants.
This is a unique opportunity to combine practical animal care with classroom support, ideal for individuals passionate about animal welfare and education.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily husbandry tasks and ensure the welfare of a wide range of species housed on-site.
- Maintain and operate animal care facilities to the highest safety and welfare standards.
- Assist academic staff during practical teaching sessions and support students in their learning.
- Participate in a rotational rota covering weekends, bank holidays, and key holiday periods such as Christmas and Easter.
- Provide cover for other technician team members during periods of leave or absence.
Working Pattern
- Role 1: Thursday to Saturday
- Role 2: Sunday to Tuesday
- Weekday Hours: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (7.5 hours per day)
Candidate Requirements
- A relevant qualification and/or practical experience in animal care, welfare, or management.
- Confidence in handling and working with a variety of animal species.
- A flexible and proactive approach to working hours and team responsibilities.
- A genuine interest in supporting student development and learning.
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
