Library & Learning Resources Team Leader

Location: Shuttleworth




Salary: £28,325 - £31, 235 per annum (pro-rata), depending on experience and qualifications




Hours: 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (term time only)




Contract Type: Permanent

We are looking for a dedicated and student-focused Library & Learning Resources Team Leader to join our Libraries and Learning Resources department for a college in Shuttleworth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and a passion for supporting education to lead a team and make a positive impact on the student experience.



Key Responsibilities

Library Management



  • Create and maintain a supportive learning environment
  • Coordinate the work of the library team
  • Ensure resources meet curriculum needs
  • Promote library services across the college




Student and Staff Support


  • Provide academic support to students and staff
  • Deliver training on library systems and digital resources
  • Liaise with curriculum teams to support learning objectives
  • Monitor usage of online platforms and identify areas for improvement




Team Leadership



  • Supervise and guide the library team
  • Set clear priorities and expectations
  • Provide ongoing training and support
  • Manage rotas and adjust workflows as needed




Operational Procedures


  • Oversee day-to-day library functions
  • Manage stock purchasing and resource curation
  • Deliver engaging library inductions
  • Maintain accurate records and data for reporting




Statutory Duties



  • Uphold safeguarding, equality, and diversity policies
  • Comply with health and safety requirements
  • Participate in training and continuous professional development



About You

Qualifications



  • A Level (or equivalent) education
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Willingness to achieve Level 2 qualifications within one year if not already held




Experience



  • Experience supervising or managing a team
  • Customer-facing experience in a public or educational setting
  • Experience working in a library or resource management environment is desirable

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proactive and able to learn new systems and procedures
  • Flexible, collaborative, and approachable
  • Able to handle challenging situations with professionalism
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings as required
