Job Title: Lecturer - Hairdressing and Barbering

Location: Kettering/Corby

Contract Type: Permanent - Full Time & Part Time Opportunities Available

Hours: 37 hours per week (Pro-Rata for Part-Time roles)

Salary: £31,930 - £36,878 per annum (DOE and Qualifications)




Morgan Hunt is working with a college in the Kettering/Corby area to recruit a dynamic and experienced Lecturer in Hairdressing and Barbering.




This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to deliver engaging, industry-standard education to aspiring hairdressers and barbers across a range of levels. You'll join a vibrant and professional Hair & Beauty team dedicated to educational excellence and student success.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Student Development

• Deliver inspiring and inclusive lessons in Hairdressing and Barbering across different levels.
• Support and challenge students to achieve their full potential through tailored learning.

Assessment & Progress Monitoring

• Assess student work in line with awarding body requirements.
• Track and report on learner progress, intervening where necessary to support achievement.

Curriculum & Resource Development

• Contribute to curriculum innovation and development.
• Prepare engaging learning materials and maintain high-quality, safe salon environments.

Collaboration & Administration

• Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to improve student outcomes.
• Manage classroom behaviour and complete administrative tasks such as registers, reports, and planning documents.

Safeguarding & Professional Practice

• Promote safeguarding, equality, and health and safety in all aspects of teaching.
• Actively participate in CPD and stay up-to-date with industry trends and teaching practices.

Candidate Profile:

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

• Level 3 in Hairdressing and Level 2/3 in Barbering.
• A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one via PGCE/CertEd).
• Assessor qualification (A1/TAQA) or willingness to obtain.
• Recent and relevant industry experience.

• Strong lesson planning and classroom management skills.
• Confident communicator, with the ability to motivate and support learners of all abilities.
• Organised and reliable, with excellent time management and administrative skills.
• Committed to personal and professional growth, including continuous improvement of teaching practice.
• Able to work flexibly across different campus locations and schedules.
