Role: Head of Construction and Sustainability
Salary: £45,906 - £55,908 per annum
Hours: 37 per week
Location: Stockport and Stretford (with the requirement to work across all campuses)
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced curriculum Head to lead our diverse and growing Construction provision at the Trafford College Group. This role will be responsible for driving forward the "Green" agenda and our recently launched "Sustainability Strategy" to realise our ambition to drive excellence in the sector. Based across two key sites at Stretford and Stockport, the provision includes a Commercial Gas Centre (ACS and AM2S) and a Cadent Gas and Renewable Technologies Hub alongside our extensive trade workshops and specialist facilities. The Role
The Head of Construction and Sustainability is a new role and will be responsible for leading and managing a large curriculum team that delivers Construction Building trades, Building Services and Renewables. The curriculum covers levels 1 to 5 across all funding streams, including young learners, adults, higher education, and a substantial apprenticeship provision. Our qualifications include vocational, higher technical qualifications, higher national diplomas, and a new suite of T-levels. Your role will be to ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment and to embed a culture of continuous improvement across the Construction department. You will also be responsible for the management and development of staff, departmental budgets, and physical resources across the department. A key part of this new role is to drive curriculum development in line with local skills needs and the requirements of our industry partners and the construction sector. The college is committed to investing significant resources in the development of green technologies and this area is a key strategic focus for growth.About youSubstantial experience of leading a large team of teaching staff, technicians and assessors within a further educational setting is essential. You should be experienced in curriculum design and development, departmental budgets and have a strong track record in sourcing and implementing industry relevant CPD which drives improvement in learner outcomes. Ideally you would have significant and up-to-date industry links and knowledge of the current national technical agenda and renewables strategy. Membership of professional bodies, industry sector forums or awarding body advisory panels would be highly desirable. Our busy facilities team are recruiting an experienced Building Services Manager who will be responsible for the management and maintenance of Coin Street's hard services across our 13-acre site which includes the iconic Oxo Tower Wharf, our conference centre, cafes, bars and restaurants, our parks, and the riverside walkway, plus our award-winning co-operative housing and our family and children's centre.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following:
• Significant experience in an engineering facilities role within multi building services.
• Duly qualified (minimum HND) in mechanical or electrical engineering demonstrable extensive trade experience.
• Evidence of introducing or managing an asset management process, understanding condition survey and producing a cyclical repair and replacement programme.
• Experience of Construction Design Management Regulations (CDM).

Contract
Permanent, 35 hours per week (with flexibility to be able to attend emergency call outs on evenings or weekends when required).

Salary
£51,000 - £55,000 per annum depending on experience.
