Having been the chair for a considerable number of years I decided that it was time to resign and to find a new chair that could help get the organisation into its next phase of development. We had tried to find a replacement in the past but we decided as a Board to embark upon a proper recruitment process; hence we engaged Morgan Hunt.
With the assistance of our consultant, Will Worthington, we drew up a person specification highlighting specific skills that we required and what relevant current and past experience we required from potential candidates.
Will handled everything that was needed; he placed adverts, he helped to shortlist by having a mini interview with prospective candidates when indicated and joined and guided our shortlisting discussions. He provided summaries of the candidates as well as providing full supporting information; he worked with us on the shortlisting making the whole process so much easier. He was able to provide advice and support throughout the process. He arranged the final interviews and liaised with the candidates about the interview and ensured we had all the information needed.
In conclusion we did find and appoint an exceptionally good replacement who both the chief executive and I are extremely pleased with, we could not have found such a good replacement without this support.
I would fully recommend using Morgan Hunt for recruitment of Board members. I enjoyed working with Will very much and the way in which he orchestrated the whole process was very impressive and stress free for us.
