Senior Payroll Officer - Education Sector - East London with hybrid working
This is an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Specialist to join one of London's leading FE Colleges.
You will be responsible for the College's payroll operations including the management of the day-to-day work of the payroll service. Your accountabilities will include:-
- Ensuring that the payroll is delivered efficiently and that statutory and contractual obligations for pay, benefits and pensions are met
- Acting as an expert in the areas of payroll, plus adhering to the scheme rules for each of the pension arrangements in place (LGPS, NEST and TPS)
- Working closely with colleagues in the HR team to ensure that any staff changes are actioned
- Supporting the finance team with the monthly salary reconciliation process
- Ensuring the required payments are made to HMRC, the pension providers and other statutory bodies and organisations.
You should have experience of managing a payroll service ideally in the education sector or in a local government organisation. Excellent numerical and analytical skills need to be combined with an ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders. It is highly desirable that you have a knowledge of LGPS and TPS pension schemes. Experience of working with iTrent would be an advantage.
