Job description

Morgan Hunt are currently working with one of the UK's Healthcare Regulatory Bodies in their search for a permanent Caseworker to undertake investigatory and preparatory work in respect of regulatory cases and enquiries.

You will be responsible for drafting case plans, gathering evidence, obtaining witness statements and ensuring prompt and accurate responses to communications and enquiries.

You will also be responsible for providing efficient and timely administrative support for Investigating Committee Meetings, ensuring the maintenance of post-meeting records as well as ensuring hardcopy/electronic filling systems are updated.

The role would be perfect for an individual with strong experience providing administrative support in relation to casework, investigations and hearings (ideally within the Regulatory Sector).

The successful applicant will have strong communication, organisation and prioritisation skills, with a strong understanding/appreciations of regulation and public protection.

Job Title: Caseworker

Location: Hybrid (1-2 days per week in London)

Annual Salary: £30,000 - £31,000

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with and chase information from complainants in order to ensure that the enquiries can be progressed effectively
  • Drafting case plans for new, less complex cases, documenting key evidence to be obtained as part of the investigation.
  • Carrying out all actions required to investigate and gather evidence on new complaints as identified in the case plan.
  • Taking witness statements from the complainant and other witnesses, as required.
  • Instruct Counsel and Expert Opinion, as well as identify and arrange further investigation work, where required
  • Actively managing cases and in a timely manner, keeping the Investigations Manager up to date with developments and meeting with standard KPI targets.
  • Ensuring prompt and accurate responses to communications with other parties, meeting service standards.
  • Responding to enquiries, escalating as appropriate.
  • Ensuring hardcopy / electronic filings systems are updated.
  • Drafting correspondence for the Investigators / Investigations Manager.
  • Providing efficient and timely administrative support for Investigating Committee Meetings; preparing and sending IC bundles, sending Microsoft Teams links, attending to their requirements of the committee members.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of post-IC meeting records, including filing and archiving, and keeping management information system up to date.

Person Specification

  • Demonstrated experience of administrative support in the context of casework and investigations (ideally within the Regulatory Sector)
  • Well-developed oral communication skills, to deal effectively, efficiently and appropriately with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to multitask on a variety of on-going projects and/or activities
  • Ability to research, analyse, summarise and report on information in a systematic and coherent way; and to make recommendations for appropriate policy responses supported by clear arguments and evidence
  • Knowledge or experience of law, casework or hearings procedures is desirable
