Application Support Engineer(Azure Cloud)

Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Application Support Engineer(Azure Cloud) on a FTC basis. The position will be based in London.

Role - Azure Cloud support engineer

FTC 12 Months (Can be permanent on the basis of your performance)

Salary - £35,423 - £44,903 plus the following where applicable: London weighting up to £3,366 per annum or home working allowance up to £500 per annum

Location - London

Working Model - Nationwide/Remote/Hybrid

About The client - The mission is to end cruelty to children. Today, the lobbies government on child welfare issues, leads national campaigns and offers front line service support for thousands of vulnerable children. We do this directly and through schools, local safeguarding children boards and others, offering support, advice and training. Since 2006, we have run Child-line, the telephone helpline and counselling service. Beyond our front-line support services, campaigns and consulting provisions, we carry out a comprehensive programme of groundbreaking research. With a core staff and thousands of nationwide volunteers, remains a central organisation in the fabric of British society, with the welfare, protection and prosperity of children at the centre of everything we do.

In this hands-on role, you will:

• Provide 2nd/3rd line support for business-critical applications, managing incidents, problems, changes, and service requests.
• Maintain and optimize Azure environments, ensuring high availability and performance
• Implement automation solutions to enhance efficiency and scalability
• Identify and address potential issues or bottlenecks in our systems and processes
• Contribute to the development of new solutions and strategies for future growth
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and meet business requirements.
• Administer our cloud and on-prem environments, leveraging automation and monitoring.

A successful candidate will have:

• Experience with PowerShell and Python
• Automation
• SQL - SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, Server admin
• Proven experience in maintaining Azure environments
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft technologies and tooling
• Passion for automation and a mindset for continuously seeking improvements
• Ability to weigh benefits against costs and propose practical solutions.
