Job description

Are you a proactive and results-oriented individual with a passion for building relationships and driving opportunities in the education sector? I am working with a Leading FE College who are looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to join their team and spearhead our efforts in promoting work experience and apprenticeships to employers.

Role Overview:

As their Business Development Manager, you'll play a crucial role in expanding our network of employer partners and promoting opportunities for work experience and apprenticeships within the Further Education sector. Your primary focus will be on making outbound calls and engaging with employers to showcase the benefits of partnering with our college for talent development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively reach out to employers through outbound calls, emails, and other communication channels to promote opportunities for work experience and apprenticeships offered by .
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within businesses, industries, and community organisations to foster partnerships and collaboration.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including careers advisors, faculty, and student services, to identify opportunities and tailor apprenticeship programs to meet the needs of employers and students.
  • Organise and facilitate employer engagement events, workshops, and information sessions to educate employers about the benefits of offering work experience and apprenticeship opportunities and encourage their participation.
  • Track and analyse outreach efforts, engagement metrics, and employer feedback to assess the effectiveness of promotional activities and identify areas for improvement and optimisation.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, labour market demands, and government initiatives related to apprenticeships and work experience to inform strategic decision-making and program development.
  • Qualifications and Skills:

Essential Criteria:

  • Full knowledge and understanding of apprenticeships and related funding and compliance
  • Proven experience in outbound sales or business development, with a focus on promoting education or workforce development initiatives preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with employers, educators, students, and community partners.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Results-driven mindset, with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and driving positive outcomes
