Job description
You will be tasked with providing careers information and advice to young people.
You will work predominantly with unemployed young people aged 16-19 to support their job seeking activities and signpost to support services as needed.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Initiate and develop relationships with young people, that will enable you to meet young people's needs
- To ensure that all work is part of a deliberate and considered programme based on the identified needs of young people
- Ensure young people are involved in decision making and planning and are empowered to participate in decision making within the community
- Input data on the database on an accurate and timely basis
- To participate in recruitment events on- and off-site, providing information and advice in a range of settings including open days, schools, colleges, voluntary and community organisations, libraries and fairs. To follow up enquiries and leads gathered to enable the college to actively recruit new learners.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be able to deal with complex and challenging situations, which will require sensitivity and persuasion
- Be able to think on your feet to find a range of innovative solutions to these situations
- Have at least a Level 4 IAG Diploma
