Job description

  • Credit Controller

    Morgan Hunt is working with a university in London who are looking at recruiting a Credit Controller. This is a 12-month contract role paying up to £21 p/hour and will offer hybrid working.

    Reporting to the Head of Credit Control, the post holder will be responsible for the collection of Research, General and NHS debts (excluding tuition fees, residence) and reducing to a minimum the exposure to bad debts.

    Key Responsibilities of the Credit Controller:

    • Manage debt collection for General, NHS, and Research sales ledgers, including reconciliation and allocation of cash and credit notes.
    • Code income daily and post receipts to the sales ledger.
    • Send statements, dunning letters, and chase overdue accounts via phone, email, and letter.
    • Utilise various software including Microsoft Excel, Word, Oracle Financials, and ticketing systems for reporting and debt collection.
    • Liaise with internal departments, external organisations, and stakeholders, and handle credit checks and setting up new customers.

    Previous Skills and Experience of the Credit Controller:

    • Minimum of 2 years of Credit Control experience in a similar role.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
    • Good working knowledge of Oracle Financial Applications.
    • Previous experience in the Public sector or University environment.
    • Familiarity with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDRM) and ticketing systems.
