Job description
Are you an experienced and qualified English tutor who enjoys working with challenging students? Do you have a passion for helping them achieve their academic goals and improve their confidence? If so, you might be the perfect candidate for this exciting opportunity at Barnet College.
Barnet College is looking for a Challenging Students Tutor to teach English to a group of students who have various learning difficulties, behavioural issues, and special educational needs. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons, assessing and monitoring the students' progress, and providing feedback and support. You will also work closely with other staff members and external agencies to ensure the students' wellbeing and safety.
This is a temporary role, starting as soon as possible and lasting until the end of the academic year. You will be working 4 to 5 days a week, depending on the timetable and availability. The pay rate is £28 per hour, plus holiday pay and pension contributions.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A recognised teaching qualification in English or a related subject
- Experience of teaching English to challenging students at various levels
- A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one
- A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching and learning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
