    Job description

    Job Title: Hairdressing Lecturer

    Location: Broxbourne, Hertfordshire

    Hours: Flexible

    Start: ASAP

    Length of contract: on going

    Payrate: £25/H

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    • Deliver high quality teaching to students relating to Hairdressing history, Hairdressing theory, or the critical understanding of Hairdressing practices, at undergraduate and postgraduate level
    • Design, develop and review teaching activities and materials
    • Identify best and innovative practices in learning and teaching and build these into personal teaching practice
    • Maintain an understanding of how emerging research in the subject discipline can shape and improve the curriculum, and inform personal teaching practice
    • Contribute to course/programme review and design
    • Give effective advice, guidance and feedback to students, to support their academic progress

    Skills and experience:

    • A Certificate in Education, PGCE or other higher teaching qualification would be required.
    • Significant experience of teaching Functional Skills and/or GCSE (mathematics and English) Good or better 'Teaching, Learning and Assessment' grades.
    • Experience of working with young people
    • Appropriate academic qualifications at postgraduate level (normally a doctorate or equivalent)
