Management Accountant

Job description

Morgan Hunt are currently recruiting for a Management Accountant in London on a full time permanent basis with a well-known charity. This Management Accountant role is paying up to £42,000 per annum.

The Management Accountant will be providing support and financial analysis to support the wider team to maximise returns. Deliver monthly management reports, prepare annual statutory reports, and help implement a new financial software system upgrade.

Main Responsibilities of the Finance Business Partner:

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts and performance reports for the charity, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Record all income and expenditure for the charity and projects and analyse financial data to support budget-holders.
• Develop performance reports, investigate variances, update forecasts for major projects, and support business case development for future projects.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and income generation, improve procurement processes, support Internal Audit reviews, and ensure compliance with policies and standards.
• Maintain the Business Intelligence system, financial records, and provide administrative support for Trustee committee meetings and other formal reviews.

Person Specification of the Finance Business Partner:

• Hold a relevant degree or professional qualification from recognised accountancy bodies (e.g., CIMA/ACCA/ACA) *Can be part qualified!
• Have experience management accounts within a similar organisation, demonstrating stakeholder relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrate expertise in VAT.
• Exhibit an understanding of risks and utilise financial and business intelligence for risk management and mitigation.
• Possess a curious mindset, capable of identifying and investigating risks, and proposing practical solutions within the business context.
• Communicate effectively across various stakeholder levels.
• Display confidence in independent work while also being collaborative and proactive.
