Are you a Housing Officer looking for work in East London?

Morgan Hunt's Public Sector and Government client based in East London is looking to recruit a Housing Officer to provide support throughout a busy period.

This assignment has been deemed inside of IR35.

As a Housing Officer, you will be responsible for managing rent arrears cases, implementing effective recovery strategies, and supporting tenants in resolving their arrears in a fair and compassionate manner.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to:

• Provide support, advice, and guidance to tenants on their rights and responsibilities as tenants.
• Manage a portfolio of properties, including conducting new tenant inductions, property inspections, and tenancy reviews.
• Monitor compliance with tenancy agreements and housing policies. Take appropriate enforcement action in cases of tenancy breaches, rent arrears, antisocial behaviour, and property misuse.
• Coordinate property maintenance and repair works, ensuring that properties are maintained to a high standard and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Facilitate tenancy transfers, assignments, and terminations in accordance with legal requirements and organisational policies.
• Conduct exit interviews and property inspections upon tenancy terminations.
• Monitor rent payments and arrears, implement rent recovery strategies, and support tenants in managing their rent payments and financial obligations.
• Collaborate with internal teams, local authorities, housing associations, and community organisations to deliver holistic support services to tenants.
• Liaise with external agencies and support networks to access additional support for tenants in need.
