External Funding Lead

As our External Funding Lead, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and securing external grant funding opportunities. You will lead the charge in researching and applying for grants, ensuring that the organisation meets critical energy performance and carbon reduction targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct horizon scanning of external funding opportunities, including government grants and private funding.
• Research opportunities such as carbon credits to maximise funding potential.
• Lead the development of bids and applications, demonstrating a strong understanding of funding requirements and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with specialist consultants to inform and strengthen bid applications.
• Collate and analyse data to support bid submissions and ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
• Identify and pursue consortium opportunities with other housing associations to maximise funding impact.
• Coordinate stakeholder reviews of grant funding agreements to ensure alignment with organisational goals.
• Review and assess data sharing agreements, prioritising data protection and compliance.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Strong knowledge of the net-zero carbon agenda and relevant legislation and standards (PAS).
• Proven experience in identifying and securing external funding, preferably within the housing sector.
• Familiarity with grant funding agreements and compliance requirements.
• Understanding of sustainability principles and current environmental legislation.

Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and other relevant IT tools for project management and reporting.
• Solution-focused mindset with the ability to innovate and drive results.
• Highly organised with a methodical approach to work.
• PAS2035 qualification by an accredited body preferred.
