Driver/Stores Person

Morgan Hunt currently require a Driver Stores Person for NHS based in South East London

Pay Rate: £12ph PAYE £1.44 WTR Total: £13.44ph

Hours: 37.5 hrs varied shifts between 06:00am to 17:00pm Mon to Fri

Location: South East London

Duration 6 months on going contract

Full Clean Driving Licence required will use Trust Departments vehicles

DRIVERS WILL BE TOTALLY RESPONSBLE FOR THE SECURITY OF THE VEHICLE AND ITS CONTENTS.

Job Purpose

The driver will undertake driving duties to enable the efficient distribution of all goods required and provide assistance in all aspects of General Transport/Stores throughout the NHS Foundation Trust, conforming to specified procedures and regulations including the Health and safety at work Act (1974).

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Vehicles & Security: To maintain the interior and exterior to a high standard of cleanliness fluid/tyre and lighting checks to be carried out and recorded daily as described in the code of conduct for drivers and conforming to the manufacturers recommendations with any faults reported. Ignition keys are to be removed when unattended, vehicles to be kept locked at all times when not in use and contents emptied at end of shift.

2. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Uniform, safety boots and identity badges should be worn at all times
3. Mail: To transport mail to various sites
4. Pharmacy and Vaccines: To transport pharmaceutical supplies as required, complying with Duty Report Regulations and Procedures (1990).
5. Specimens: To transport specimens as scheduled to various sites in accordance with statutory regulations and procedures. Most specimens and all vaccines need to be stored at specific temperatures to prevent deterioration, Special insulated containers will be provided and must be used at all times.
6. Paediatrics: (Stores, medical/surgical supplies, appliances and equipment). To transport Medical equipment as directed to and from patient's homes as required.
7. Sterile Services: To transport sterile/contaminated equipment in mobile containers to various service users.
8. Medical Records: To transport as scheduled to various sites in mobile containers in accordance with statutory regulations and procedures.
9. Micro fibre Mops: To transport Sterile and contaminated cleaning materials twice daily between two sites.
10. NHS Orders: To transport all orders in roller cages to various service users.
11. Admin: To assist with the processing and deliveries of orders, recording and obtaining proof of delivery.
12. General: Total Flexibility is expected from the driver if they were to be instructed whenever required by the Line Manager to transfer to other driving duties.
13. All duties are to be completed in a professional and satisfactory manner in accordance with the NHS Health & Safety Policy and associated legislation
14. To be aware of all policies and procedures relating to their duties.
15. To undertake any training as required.
