Job description

Morgan Hunt currently require Security Officers for NHS based in East London.

Pay Rate: £12.50ph PAYE £1.50ph WTR Total: £14.00ph Weekdays/ £16.25ph PAYE Nights/Saturday All Day and £18.75ph PAYE Sunday/Bank Holiday All Day.

Hours: 12 hours shifts between 07:00am to 19:00pm & 19:00pm to 07:00am

Location: East London

Duration: 6 months on going contract

Suitable candidates must have the following requirements:

  • Current Front line SIA license
  • PPE (stab vests with hook and camera for radio, boots, black cargo trousers white shirts, etc.)
  • Provide Covid 19 Vaccination information.
  • Standard/Enhanced DBS checks valid.
  • Right to live in UK validated
  • First Aid certificate valid
  • Experience in operating within NHS is preferable.
  • Health checks completed (we need healthy officers on site, that can operate at a stressful condition, lots of manual handling and Physical intervention)
  • Health and Safety training preferable (we are enforced under HSE, so we need officers understanding the legal frame), manual handling, physical intervention, conflict resolution.

  • Black cargo trousers
  • White shirt, either long or short sleeved
  • Protective black boots (Trust use standard police issued steel toe black boots)
  • Black outdoor warm jacket
  • Notebook and pen for evidential purposes

Job Purpose

The candidates will work as a member of the established security team to provide a security service, to the Trust, that is highly visible, service user focused and professional at all times with the overarching goals of creating a safe and crime free environment for all patients, staff, visitors, and the public.

Main duties, responsibilities, and results areas

➢ To patrol the grounds of the hospital, both internally and externally to protect the building and its contents from fire, theft or harm as directed by the Site Security Manager or named deputy

➢ Act as the first line emergency response to any given security situation and respond in line with the defined security procedures and protocols.

➢ Effectively control and monitor access to the Trust site and where necessary request and examine documentation and identification to ascertain authenticity.to be on site

➢ When required assist in the escorting and removal of individuals from site

➢ Escort Trust staff and visitors to their destination within the Trust's site

➢ Identify security defects, health and safety, maintenance and cleaning faults or requirements as part of the regular patrol duties and report to the appropriate Trust teams for resolution.

➢ Ensure that all uniform and equipment issued is worn, clean and presentable, at all times, including stab vests, radios and body worn cameras.

➢ Ensure that all documentation, logs, and records are completed appropriately and in line with the defined security procedures and protocols.

➢ At all times carry out the duties of the role in a professional and compassionate manner when interacting with all Trust service users,

➢ Undertake other reasonable security duties as directed by the Site Security Manager or named deputy such as key issuing, intruder alarm activations, bed watches, site

evacuations, property escorts and site searches.

➢ Monitor CCTV systems for the site and public areas, both internally and externally, in accordance with legislation and the Trust's defined security procedures and protocols.

➢ To staff the site control room with the ability to monitor and respond, in line with the dedicated Trust Security procedures, all alarms, access control systems, CCTV cameras and communications systems.

➢ Identifying any faults or issues with any of the systems within the control room ensuring that all are logged and reported immediately.

➢ Ensure that all security and incident forms, Incident reports, DOR and DATIX reports, and emails are completed in line with the dedicated security protocols.
