Job description

Are you a Income Officer looking for work in Southeast London?

Morgan Hunt's Public Sector and Government client based in Southeast London, is looking to recruit a Income Officer to provide support throughout a busy period.

This assignment has been deemed inside of IR35.

As a Income Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the collection of service charges and rent payments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to:

  • Calculate and issue service charge statements to tenants in accordance with lease agreements and relevant regulations.
  • Review service charge budgets, expenditure, and invoicing, ensuring accuracy and transparency in financial transactions.
  • Respond to inquiries from tenants regarding service charge calculations, adjustments, and disputes.
  • Monitor rent arrears and take appropriate action to recover outstanding balances in a timely manner.
  • Implement effective debt recovery strategies, including payment plans, negotiations, and legal proceedings as necessary.
  • Provide support and guidance to tenants experiencing financial difficulties, signposting to relevant support services and assistance programs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of service charge payments, rent arrears, and debt recovery activities.
  • Prepare regular reports on income collection, arrears management, and financial performance for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to reconcile income records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Build positive relationships with tenants, providing proactive communication and support to promote timely payment of service charges and rent.
  • Conduct outreach and educational initiatives to raise awareness about payment obligations, financial assistance options, and budgeting skills.
