This assignment has been deemed inside of IR35.

As a Rent Arrears Recovery Officer, you will play a crucial part in managing rent arrears, working proactively to recover outstanding balances and supporting individuals and families in maintaining their tenancies.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to:

• Monitor and manage rent arrears cases, conducting regular assessments to identify potential issues and implementing effective recovery strategies.
• Provide support to tenants facing financial difficulties, offering advice on budgeting, benefit entitlements, and signposting to relevant support services.
• Utilise strong negotiation and mediation skills to establish payment plans and agreements with tenants to clear outstanding arrears.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of arrears, communications, and agreements, utilising relevant databases and systems.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant housing laws and regulations in the recovery process including serving notices and initiating legal proceedings when necessary.
• Strong knowledge of housing laws, tenancy agreements, and rent arrears recovery processes.
• Familiarity with relevant databases and software for record-keeping.
