Job description

Are you a Temporary Accommodation Officer looking for work in Kingston Upon Thames, London?

Morgan Hunt's Public Sector and Government client based in Kingston Upon Thames, London, is looking to recruit a Temporary Accommodation Officer to provide support throughout a busy period.

This assignment has been deemed inside of IR35.

As a Temporary Accommodation Officer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the provision of temporary accommodation, maximising housing supply, and supporting clients in accessing welfare benefits to maintain their tenancies.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to:

  • Provide comprehensive support to residents in temporary accommodation, including assistance with resettlement, welfare benefits, and accessing support services.
  • Coordinate the allocation and management of temporary accommodation placements for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
  • Conduct needs assessments and match clients with appropriate accommodation options based on their preferences, support needs, and eligibility criteria.
  • Conduct regular welfare checks and assessments to identify needs, address concerns, and facilitate referrals to appropriate agencies.
  • Administer tenancy agreements, rent payments, and arrears management for residents in temporary accommodation.
  • Monitor compliance with tenancy conditions, conduct property inspections, and address maintenance issues in a timely manner.
  • Offer housing advice and advocacy to residents, empowering them to navigate the housing system, understand their rights, and access appropriate housing solutions.
  • Advocate on behalf of residents to address barriers to housing stability, such as discrimination, eligibility disputes, and access to support services.
  • Collaborate with local authorities, housing providers, support agencies, and community organisations to enhance support networks and service provision for residents.
  • Participate in multi-agency meetings, case conferences, and partnership initiatives to coordinate holistic support for individuals and families in temporary accommodation.
