Research & Policy Officer

Morgan Hunt is currently working with Membership Body that represents health care professionals in their search for a Research & Policy Officer on a part-time basis for a 6-month fixed term contract.

As a Research & Policy Officer you'll lead the delivery of member consultations, contribute to policy priorities, and influence key goals. Also, your responsibilities will include support with undertaking of wider engagement meetings with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have excellent research skills, be adept at co-ordinating analysis of survey findings, and be able to work independently.

Job Title: Research Policy Officer
Location: Euston, London (Hybrid - 1 day in office)
Contract: Part time. 6 Months FTC, 14 Hours per week.
Salary: £14,933 (£37,332 FTE)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage programmes supporting Physician Associates and MDT working, including coordinating member consultations, and managing reports.
  • Provide expert advice on Physician Associate policy issues, utilising research and engagement exercises with members and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to formulating and implementing the College's responses to emerging issues, including media engagement.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders such as NHS England, the Department of Health, and other professional groups.
  • Provide support and advice to college officers, coordinate policy inputs, and represent the College at external meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a consistent approach to Physician Associates and MDT across the organisation.
  • Facilitate information sharing and alignment of policy approaches across Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
  • Support and be the primary contact for the College's clinical representatives on Physician Associates and related policies.
  • Contribute to cross-cutting areas of work within the Policy and Campaigns team.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience in delivering policy support and outputs.
  • Exceptional written communication skills for drafting policy documents and briefings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective representation in external forums.
  • Project management experience with a track record of successful delivery.
  • Ability to engage with decision-makers and opinion former's.
  • Understanding of policy development and delivery.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Proactive and able to work independently with initiative.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to present complex issues accessibly.
  • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong team player with tact and diplomacy.
  • Proactive and resilient with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to thrive in a challenging and changing environment.
  • Desirable: Good knowledge of the UK health system
