Employment Case Worker for vulnerable Adults with Low Paid Employment

Location: Southwark (Office based with some visits into the community)

Pay: £13.50 holiday pay = £15.13 per hour or £17.00 per hour via an umbrella company

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 AM - 05:00 PM (with some flexibility)

Contract: 3 months with potential permanent opportunity

I am recruiting for a prominent organization dedicated to empowering and supporting adults in low-paid employment. We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Case Worker to join the team on a temporary basis, working closely with a diverse group of adults to help them gain employability skills and enhance their career prospects.

Role Responsibilities:

As an Employment Case Worker, you will play a pivotal role in supporting adults facing low-paid employment, with an emphasis on those with learning disabilities, mental health challenges, or those in precarious work situations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of 20-30 individuals, providing tailored support to help them overcome employment barriers and acquire essential skills.
  • Facilitating job searches, skill development, career advancement opportunities, and access to training programs.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders, including local employment agencies, social workers, and other community resources, to receive referrals and ensure comprehensive support for your caseload.
  • Conducting outreach sessions at local job centers and relevant community centers to connect with potential participants and help them access our services.
  • Developing and maintaining individualized support plans, monitoring progress, and adapting strategies as needed.
  • Empowering adults to pursue employment opportunities that align with their interests and goals, ultimately increasing their confidence and employability.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working with adults in low-paid employment, particularly those with learning disabilities, mental health challenges, or those facing financial hardships.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently while meeting targets and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with employability skills development, job searching, and relevant processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of the individuals you support.
  • Experience with both employed and unemployed individuals is an advantage.
