Job Title: First Contact Worker

Location: The West Hamstead area, London. Closest Station: West Hamstead or Finchley Road & Frognal

Working Hours: 08:00-16:00 or 09:00-17:00, Monday to Friday

Pay: £13.00 holiday pay = £14.56 per hour or £17.00 umbrella

About the Organisation:

My social care client operates supported accommodation in the West Hamstead area, specialising in various areas of support. The service supports young people aged 16-25 in a supported accommodation service, specifically supporting service users with mental health conditions and needs. The team is dedicated to providing intensive assistance, particularly in managing behaviours and emotions, offering advice and guidance, and establishing strong partnership links with external agencies.

Role Overview:

My social care client is looking for a dynamic and organised First Contact Worker to join the team in the West Hamstead area. As the first point of contact for anyone visiting the office, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment. This role requires excellent administrative skills, one of the main requirements of the role is the ability to organise activities for young people, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Skills: Prioritise and excel in administrative tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations.
  • First Point of Contact: Serve as the initial contact for anyone visiting the office, demonstrating exceptional communication skills and a welcoming demeanour.
  • Crisis Management: Possess the ability to calm down aggressive situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals involved.
  • Organising Activities: Take the lead in organising activities for young people, contributing to their personal and social development. This is a big part of the role!
  • Rent Management: Lead on organising and managing rent-related matters to ensure financial stability within the supported accommodation.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in administrative roles, with a strong emphasis on organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle challenging situations with a calm and professional demeanour.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies.
  • Prior experience in a similar role within a supported accommodation setting is desirable.

In order to apply for this position it is essential that that you possess an enhanced DBS certificate issued within the last 12 months or one that is on the update service
