Outreach Worker - Substance and Alcohol Misuse - Camden and Islington
We are seeking a self-directed, energetic, and driven individual who is dedicated to delivering outreach to communities that are difficult to reach in order to engage or re-engage the homeless population in wellness programmes and drug and alcohol treatment. They'll be able to operate both individually and as a helpful team member:
Responsibilities:
- Reach out to homeless people who are using drugs on the streets in an effort to reconnect them with relevant services.
- Interact and establish relationships with people who are homeless or rough sleepers.
- Evaluations and harm reduction guidance, including the provision of Naloxone.
- Create strong connections between the current homeless services and housing/outreach programmes.
- Encourage re-engagement or access to a nearby treatment facility.
- Provide quick access to prescriptions for opioid users by utilising virtual prescribing clinics.
- Oversee a small caseload of clients with complicated requirements, such as substance abuse, and collaborate with partner organisations to assist clients in achieving stability and becoming prepared to interact with neighbourhood treatment providers.
- Collaborate with housing teams, the local government, and other treatment organisations to support individuals entering treatment and reduce the incidence of anti-social conduct and street drinking.
