Job Title: Pathway Service Manager - Brent Young People's Pathway

Pay: £18.00 - £24.00 per hour

Location: Brent, London

Assignment: 3 months

Line Management: Direct supervision of a core team of 12 staff, including Team Leaders, Support Workers, an Assistant Support Worker, a Community Engagement Worker, Housing Management Worker, Night Concierge, and an Apprentice with lived experience.

Job Type: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday with some late working)

Summary of Job:

As the Pathway Service Manager for the Brent Young People's Pathway, you will lead and manage a dynamic team providing accommodation and support to 54 clients aged 18-21 with complex needs. This includes mental health, substance use, risk of exploitation, gang involvement, family mediation, and a need to access employment, training, and education. The role involves integrating Education, Training, and Employment (ETE) and Mental Health Specialists into the team on a weekly basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a core team of 12 staff, ensuring the effective delivery of accommodation and support services.
  • Integrate ETE and Mental Health Specialists into the team on a weekly basis.
  • Emphasise supporting clients to settle, be safe, and maximise independence along the Brent Pathway.
  • Lead on providing Social Value to the borough of Brent, managing and coaching the Community Engagement Worker to engage with local stakeholders and ensure contract compliance.
  • Ensure excellent and continuously improving performance, quality, and compliance with contract requirements.
  • Lead the coordination of the staff team and external agencies for effective operational management.
  • Manage health and safety, maintenance, and positive relationships at geographically dispersed accommodation sites.
  • Participate in a London-wide 24-hour emergency on-call service.

Key Deliverables:

  • Demonstrate significant experience in service delivery and continuous improvement, exceeding contract requirements.
  • Lead day-to-day work, mobilise services, and ensure Safeguarding procedures are followed.
  • Drive continuous improvement in accordance with service's annual project review and planning cycle.
  • Ensure high standards of service delivery, welcoming, safe, supported, and involved environments.
  • Collaborate with statutory and voluntary agencies for coordinated and client-centred service delivery.
  • Effectively engage, manage, and motivate staff and volunteers, promoting health, safety, and well being.
  • Lead and manage the project team, effectively utilising assets and resources.
  • Other duties commensurate with the role.

Person Specification - Essential:

  • Supervisory experience.
  • Use of Risk Assessments and Support Planning.
  • Management experience in a residential care or support setting.
  • Experience working with people with diverse support needs.
  • Management of partnerships with professionals using a coordinated, multi-disciplinary approach.
  • Building management, budget, and expenditure experience.
  • Operation of safeguarding requirements and procedures.
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
  • Commitment to Health and Safety.
  • Experience working with young people with complex needs, including mental health and substance use.
  • Logical problem-solving skills in a complex environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning, development, diversity, and equality.
  • Respect for the values and ethos of the service and its founding partners.
