Young Person's Floating Progression Coach Wanted!

Job Title: Young Person's Floating Progression Coach

Pay Rate: £14.00 PAYE or £18.00 Umbrella per hour

Duration: 3-month assignment - potential temp to perm after

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00

Client Base:

Clients from supported housing, demonstrating financial independence and ability to live independently after up to two years of supervision.

Individuals transitioning directly from foster care, requiring comprehensive oversight due to starting with a clean slate, no housing benefits, and limited opportunities for self-sufficiency.

Young mothers, necessitating awareness of available services to support them.

Monthly Visits:

Once a month, a visit outside of the borough may be required.

Purpose of the Service:

Promote independent living among young people aged 18-25.

Specialised focus on mental health, dual diagnosis, PTSD, learning disabilities (ADHD, Dyslexia), difficulty processing information, and those who have experienced a poor education.

Notably, a considerable number of clients are young mothers.

Client Engagement:

Varied client engagement due to a high labour turnover.

Building trust is essential to establish positive relationships.

Caseload Management:

Contracted to meet each client for a minimum of 2 hours a week, with a target of 1 hour per week.

Flexibility:

Required flexibility in working hours due to client events, including workshops on Education, Training, and Employment (ETE).

Responsibilities:

  • Work with a diverse group of clients, including young mothers, former foster care youth, and individuals from supported housing.
  • Assist clients in becoming financially independent and capable of living on their own, providing guidance and support as they transition.
  • Educate young mothers on available services.
  • Conduct monthly visits outside of the borough.
  • Manage a caseload of 15 clients, with a minimum requirement of 2 hours of support per week for each client (targeting 1 hour per week).
  • Collaborate with clients during client events and workshops focusing on Education, Training, and Employment (ETE).
  • Note: This role involves working closely with a diverse group of young individuals facing various challenges, requiring a compassionate and adaptable approach to foster positive development and independent living.
