Head Of IT Operations

In this pivotal role, you will have the opportunity to shape the technological landscape by spearheading an innovative IT operations management strategy. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving both the strategic vision and day-to-day operational excellence of our IT services.

As the Head of IT Operations, you will oversee a team of four talented professionals, including the Heads of Enterprise Applications and End-User Computing, along with the IT Operations Manager.

This is a 24 month fixed term role, with a strong chance of being made permanent.

Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of tasks, including:

• Crafting and executing comprehensive IT operations management strategies.
• Taking charge of both the strategic direction and hands-on management of IT services.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to assess and enhance existing systems.
• Facilitating the realisation of our IT strategy and digital services roadmap.
• Skillfully managing the IT budget, forecasting, and supplier/contract relationships.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess:

• Demonstrable experience in IT leadership, preferably within a large-scale organization.
• A background in the public sector would be advantageous.
• Strong expertise in both infrastructure and applications.
• Proven ability to manage multi-site teams.
• Experience overseeing IT operations serving 500 users.
• A track record of successfully leading and transforming business-critical technology functions.
• Proficiency in restructuring and fostering high-performing IT delivery teams.
• The capability to shape strategy and drive significant transformation initiatives.
• Deep technical knowledge spanning cloud, O365, virtualization, and applications.
• Strong project/program management and business case development skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
