Morgan Hunt are recruiting for an Internal Auditor (almost or at Audit Manager level) for a Regulatory Body based in Brighton. This is a hybrid role (6 days per month in the office) paying £48,000 - £55,000 sitting within a small, supportive team who are really big on continual professional development.

Job Overview:

As an Internal Auditor - Lead Specialist, playing a pivotal role in the dynamic Central Operations Directorate, you will support the Head of Internal Audit in providing independent assurance, contributing to the safety of over £2 trillion in savings and shaping the future of pensions regulation in the UK.

Key Responsibilities of the Internal Auditor:

Reporting to the Senior Internal Auditor, you will work collaboratively with the Senior Internal Audit Manager and Head of Internal Audit. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning the internal audit programme for 2024/25.
  • Conducting end-to-end audit assignments, from pre-audit scoping to report delivery.
  • Engaging with senior management and committees, delivering formal reports and findings.
  • Providing independent assurance on risk management, control, and governance processes.
  • Leading continuous improvement activities to enhance audit practices.

Experience required for the Internal Auditor:

  • Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors UK & Ireland - Chartered Auditor/CMIIA or MIIA designation.
  • Fully qualified Accountant, current member of one of five CCAB bodies (ICAEW, ACCA, CIPFA, ICAS, Chartered Accountants Ireland).
  • 5 years of proven, extensive audit expertise as an Internal Auditor.
  • Application of Public Sector Internal Audit Standards and mandatory elements of the IPPF.
  • Auditing in an environment of substantial change, including core operating models and IT systems.
  • Knowledge of financial and operational risks and controls in a regulatory government context.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and persuade stakeholders to accept audit findings.
  • Experience in auditing within a regulator or pensions environment.
