Morgan Hunt is proud to be partnering with a dynamic institution based in South West London, seeking a skilled Procurement Officer to join their team. This role will be a part of the Corporate Services Department and will play a pivotal role in assisting and managing procurement processes.

Job Title: Procurement Officer

Salary Band: £32,271 - £36,632

Start Date: ASAP (1-year fixed term)

Location: Hybrid (2 days per week onsite)

Working Hours: 37 hours

Job Purpose:

As a Procurement Officer, you will play a vital role in facilitating and managing procurement activities aligned with its entities. Your responsibilities will span across lower value procurements as well as support for high-value procurements, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with category managers for high-value procurements, taking ownership as necessary.
  • Successfully deliver allocated lower value procurements in alignment with category strategies.
  • Provide timely procurement and systems advice to buyers across the institution and its entities.
  • Maintain up-to-date supplier databases and procurement systems.
  • Support supplier negotiations to ensure value for money deals.
  • Ensure procurement toolkits and content are accurate and relevant.
  • Conduct procurements ethically, sustainably, and within agreed timeframes.
  • Provide timely reports and analysis of spend data.
  • Manage the Procurement Toolkit with accuracy.
  • Provide procurement and administrative support as required.

Person Specification:

  • Understanding of procurement processes and public procurement rules.
  • CIPS (or equivalent) qualified or working towards qualification.
  • Degree qualified.
  • Experience with e-sourcing & procure-to-pay systems.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Cross-functional business team environment experience.
  • Sourcing, category management, and negotiation skills.
  • Contract development and negotiation.
  • Insight into supplier management and service level agreements.
