Senior Policy Executive

A financial and professional services membership body is seeking a Senior Policy Executive on a part time base. As a Senior Policy Executive, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Policy to advance the organisation's policy program. This part-time position (3 days a week) will see you collaborating with organisations member companies and stakeholders to develop and implement policy projects, particularly focusing on capital markets. Additionally, you'll provide essential secretariat support for committees, engage in stakeholder interactions, and contribute to the production of key collateral.

Your responsibilities will involve working closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and senior individuals across various organisations. This role demands a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Contract: Permanent - Part time (3 days per week)
Salary: £34,750 per annum (£56,950 Full time Equivalent)
Location: Central London (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Policy and member companies to develop and execute policy projects, with a focus on capital markets.
  • Provide secretariat support for the organisations committees, including agenda and paper production, meeting organisation, and follow-up action management.
  • Assist in senior stakeholder engagement programs, particularly with government and regulators.
  • Contribute to the production of key collateral in collaboration with the corporate communications team and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare briefings for senior colleagues and take notes at meetings and events as necessary.
  • Utilise project management framework effectively.
  • Maintain relationships with internal teams, member organisations, industry bodies, government, regulators, and other key stakeholders.

Essential Experience:

  • Experience in UK policy making, regulatory institutions, or related fields.
  • Demonstrable experience in drafting policy positions and responding to consultations.
  • Interest in financial markets, economics, and public policy.
  • Strong analytic and writing skills.
  • Excellent influencing and communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to network and build relationships with senior individuals.
  • Self-starter with strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Desirable Experience:

  • Knowledge or experience in capital markets policy or regulation.
  • Understanding of financial markets, products, and sector organisations.

This vacancy is strictly part-time, and we are not looking to eventually make it into a full-time permanent position.
