Senior Policy Manager

Overview

Support the success of a UK-based financial and professional services membership body. As a leading industry body, they are dedicated to promoting policies that foster competitiveness, drive job creation, and enable long-term economic growth. Joining them as a Senior Policy Manager, where you'll step into a pivotal role shaping the regulatory landscape of the UK financial sector.

As the Senior Policy Manager, you'll work closely with industry stakeholders and policymakers to develop and deliver their policy programme. Your contributions will directly impact the industry's regulatory framework, ensuring it remains robust, adaptable, and conducive to sustained growth. As part of our dynamic team, you'll have the opportunity to drive positive change, influence key decision-makers, and contribute to the overall success of the UK financial and related professional services industry.

Salary: £60,100 per annum, Pro-rata (3 Months)

Location: EC3, London (Hybrid 50-50)

Contract: 3 Month FTC
Provisional Dates: 31st May - 4th September

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and delivery of regulatory policy strategy, including project planning and content coordination.
  • Manage all policy work related to UK regulation, overseeing areas such as regulatory framework replacement and proposed rule changes.
  • Provide policy and secretariat support for senior member groups, ensuring efficient meeting planning and agenda production.
  • Establish and manage stakeholder relationships to support ongoing policy work and strategic partnerships with government and regulators.
  • Representing the organisation at events and meetings, providing briefings for senior colleagues, and engaging in high-level discussions.

Essential/Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in UK policy making and regulatory environment, including engaging with government, regulators, and industry bodies.
  • Understanding of financial markets regulation and broader economics and public policy.
  • Proven track record in developing and delivering policy positions, papers, and reports, with strong analytic and report writing skills.
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior individuals across various organisations.
  • Degree educated in a relevant field (e.g., finance, economics, law) is desirable.
