Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Events and Stakeholder Manager for our public sector, further education client based in Edinburgh. This is an excellent fixed term position, lasting until March 2025 with the strong possibility of going permanent. We are looking for candidates with experience managing corporate events with external stakeholders.

- Salary up to £42,000

Job Description

To develop and manage the corporate events calendar, including the delivery of student graduation and prize giving events.

To coordinate the approach to external and internal events management.

To lead the direction, development, and delivery of the Stakeholder Engagement Strategy, including the development of appropriate political engagements.

To manage the successful delivery of stakeholder engagement plans to ensure the future recruitment pipeline from schools across the region. Building capacity and knowledge of each key stakeholder group to ensure effective communication and using this information to influence the Board and Senior Team on future direction and strategy.

To report to the Senior Management Team and External Engagement Committee on a regular basis on CPP developments and recommend future focus. Ensuring compliance with the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015.

To manage and deliver a range of corporate events to support recruitment, enhance the student experience, engage with stakeholders, and to grow the reputation/profile.

To undertake an ongoing examination of information to identify potential threats, risks, and opportunities and reporting to the Senior Management Team with options and recommendations.

Person specification

Educated to SCQF Level 8 or equivalency in experience

A knowledge of the workings of central and local government, and third and community sectors.

Excellent working knowledge of legislation and policy across the UK and Scotland and the impacts on the role of the College across the region.

To understand stakeholder analysis & techniques to identify priorities and required levels of engagement.

Recent and relevant experience of planning and running events with cross functional teams to support the efficient and successful delivery.

Experience of working with stakeholder groups and be able to provide expertise and leadership on stakeholder engagement to the Senior Management Team.

Experience in successfully managing the varied interests of a diverse range of stakeholders in the delivery of services.

Experience of producing high quality written work.

Experience of providing advice and briefing to senior managers.

Experience of delivering and influencing policy across the public sector.

Recommending and contributing to the development of stakeholder communications using a range tools to match the audience's level of engagement.

Project Management - Working with all internal teams, communications, marketing, facilities and curriculum to ensure the success of the corporate events that are delivered on time and in budget.
