Financial Accounts Officer

Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Financial Accounts Officer on a temporary basis with our Public Sector client based in Glasgow City Centre. The position can be worked on a hybrid basis with 1/2 days being required in the office and the rest at home. The duration of the contract is currently for 3 months.

Working within the Financial Accounting team, you will provide support on the audit of the companies Annual Report and Accounts and the accurate and timely completion of month end procedures. Reporting to the Financial Accounting Team Manager, your work will support robust financial control across the business.

Responsibilities

• Support the external audit of the Annual Report and Accounts - assist with the management of the Client Liaison Schedule to ensure all samples and required audit evidence is provided to the auditors by the required due dates; liaise with various stakeholders to address queries raised by the auditors.
• Cast and proof read the Annual Report and Accounts.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations - spot discrepancies and liaise with relevant stakeholders to resolve.
• Other Financial Accounting tasks as directed by the Financial Accounting Manager.

• Experience of working in a finance team, with good understanding of financial accounting, balance sheet reconciliations and statutory accounts.
• Able to deal with stakeholders at all levels, (internal and external) and work proactively to resolve issues and queries.

Essential Criteria:

• Able to prioritise and work accurately under pressure.
• Detail conscious and numerate.
• Good MS Office skills particularly with Excel.
