Job description

Morgan Hunt is supporting an organisation recruit for a Procurement Assistant based in Livingston. They are offering hybrid working with 3 days per week in the office, starting salary of £26,241 and enhanced benefits such as 35 days holidays and 22.8% employer contribution pension.

The role:

  • Working with partners throughout Scotland providing best practice procurement advice and guidance
  • Ensure compliance with public sector procurement legislation and provide guidance to colleagues, partners and appointed companies
  • Acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of the procurement solutions offered and promote them to all types of stakeholders
  • Undertake regional tender evaluation activities
  • Develop and deliver best practice procurement training
  • Support the management of projects from registration through to formal contract award
  • Engaging with new suppliers
  • Assist in pre-tender engagement activities
  • Provide best practice procurement advice and guidance
  • Advice on procurement options through the framework
  • Support partners in direct award call offs providing an end to end call off service
  • Running call off mini competitions
  • Provide a clear audit trail for all procurement activity
  • Represent the organisation internal and external events such as 'Meet the Buyer events, product launches, workshops, Forums/Conference
  • Provide guidance and support to companies interested in being appointed to our procurement solutions
  • Participate in team briefings at locations throughout the UK as required by the Group Director
  • Participate in monthly team meetings, including preparing presentations to provide updates as required

The requirements:

  • A good understanding or awareness of Public Sector Procurement including the practices, rules and regulation
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations in Scotland
  • Experience of undertaking regulated procurement of goods and/or services on behalf of a public sector organisation
  • Knowledge of Microsoft BI and/or SAGE CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems
  • Problem solver
  • Resourceful
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
