Job description

Company & Role

We are looking for an M&E Clerk of Works for a long term rolling contract with a leading public sector organisation in Dundee.With a massive capital projects programme, they have a very important requirement for an M&E Clerk of Works to assist them their Education and Housing new build programme, in addition to the maintenance programme to their current housing stock.



Role

  • This role will offer 37 hours a week, however a 4 day working week can be considered. There is also the opportunity for this to be permanent if it so interests you.
  • Hybrid working will be available between you home, office and site work.
  • You will represent the Head of Design and Property on all major Projects, emanating from the Division, to ensure compliance with design specifications, and quality and control of material and workmanship standards.
  • You will have experience as a Building Clerk of Works or Site Agent on both major and minor projects from inception to completion.
  • You will have knowledge of: Health and Safety legislation, including CDM, asbestos awareness, quality checklists and environmentally good practice on site.
  • You will be a good communicator and team player, with the ability to provide problem solving advice, to interpret drawings and specifications, act with authority and discretion and be competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet Explorer.
  • You will be flexible and willing to work authorised overtime, a current driving licence is also essential



Requirements

  • You will have Construction Health and Safety Awareness Qualifications and NC in Construction Management or equivalent SVQ's.
  • Project experience of the M&E aspects of Education and Housing projects is important.
  • You will be required to have strong IT and communication skills and understand how to operate professionally within a public sector environment.
  • Your role will be to liaise with multiple internal and external stakeholders such as your strategic managers and members of the local community so a problem solving mindset is essential.
