In this Senior Quantity Surveyors job opportunity based in Aberdeen; you will have an excellent opportunity to join a Tier 1 contractor who have a strong pipeline of quality work across the Northeast of Scotland. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will have the opportunity to be involved in construction projects that can range in value from £10M -to £50M within education, leisure, healthcare, heritage and commercial.

Key responsibilities

As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will take on a vital role in ensuring the commercial management of projects from tender to financial close.

  • Advising on financial feasibility of projects at early stages
  • Organising the division of projects into component work packages for procurement.
  • Assessing returns from sub-contractors and awarding work packages.
  • Negotiating with sub-contractor supply chain to achieve best value.
  • Monitoring and measuring actual expenditure against budgeted project expenditure in the form of CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation Reports)

Skills & experience

  • You have experience working on two-stage bids.
  • You can demonstrate strong knowledge of NEC and JCT conditions.
  • You have prior experience in leading on high value construction projects.
  • You have experience of procurement and sub-contractor management.
  • You are comfortable creating in depth commercial reposts for senior stakeholders.
  • You hold relevant academic qualification - Degree / HND or equivalent in Quantity Surveying / membership to the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (Desirable)

Salary between £60,000-£70,000. Car Allowance / Company Car.
