    Job description

    Morgan Hunt is currently seeking a Developer on a contract basis to work with our public-sector client with offices in both Edinburgh and Glasgow.

    Rate: £450 - £465 per day / Outside IR35

    Contract Duration: 6 Months

    Working Model: Hybrid

    An experienced developer is required to accelerate the client's move away from legacy finance systems. The focus of the work will be the collaborative development of new serverless micro-services using AWS Lambda functions and Typescript/JavaScript. However, the Supporting domain also supports several legacy systems, hence a working knowledge of shell scripting languages, such as Bash, and Oracle databases, would be a plus.

    Experience & Skills:

    • Significant commercial experience in the following technology:
      • AWS including:
      • CDK
      • Serverless (Lambda)
      • S3
      • API Gateway
      • Cloud Formation
      • Aurora/Postgres
      • TypeScript
      • Node JS
      • Modern JavaScript UI frameworks, including React
    • Strong HTML/CSS skills and an awareness of accessibility considerations
    • Front and back-end development experience.
    • Using testing tools for unit testing, including system test automation frameworks
    • Cloud monitoring, telemetry, intelligence tools and processes, including Cloudwatch Dashboards
    • Incrementally replacing enterprise legacy systems
    • Working in Agile delivery models
    • Defining infrastructure as code
    • Using UI pattern libraries to achieve consistent, tested, and high-quality interfaces.
