Senior Project Manager - 2 Year Fixed-term

We have a current opportunity for 2 x Senior Project Manager's on an initial 2 year Fixed-term basis. The position will be based in Edinburgh with a mix of on-site and hybrid working. This role provides a great public sector pension and 40 days leave. We're looking for people for a Business Change and Finance Systems background for the positions.

Salary: £50-60k DOE

Duties Include;

• To provide effective project management and business analysis services for the delivery of high quality IT based solutions within the constraints of resource, time and quality
• To provide programme management services for one or more business areas working closely with customers and colleagues to ensure the delivery of the programme and its related projects and services, establishing the long term vision for IT systems and defining the annual plan for project delivery
• To develop and maintain a detailed understanding of business processes and requirements ensuring business needs are effectively met through appropriate use of new technology and business process re-engineering
• To provide senior representation for IT and the organisation on appropriate internal and external groups
• Provide direction and mentoring support for project managers and other staff engaged on projects within the programme empowering staff to deliver effective solutions
• Coordinate the development of project proposals in collaboration with business partners to ensure the success of the annual planning process for IT development within the business area
• Exemplify best practice in project activities in particular project planning, stakeholder communications, risk, priority setting and execution within agreed budgets, to agreed standards and to agreed milestones.

Skills/Experience Required;

• In depth understanding of current industry best practice in project and programme management with the proven ability to adapt these to consistently deliver

• Extensive experience working as a Project Manager delivering successful solutions in challenging business environments
• Business Change project management experience
• Finance Systems project management experience
• Identifying, securing and managing resources ensuring projects deliver to agreed scope/quality, budgets and timelines
• Developing effective relationships and establishing trust with colleagues and customers
• Consistently obtaining results through others by effective coaching and mentoring and coaching
• Running workshops and delivering effective presentations to senior colleagues
• Influencing, guiding and challenging senior stakeholders
