Morgan Hunt is supporting a well known Public Sector organisation recruit a Category Manager within their Construction category.
The role:
Contribute to leadership, vision and strategic direction for procurement to areas assigned
Liaise and work with a range of contacts and partners
Provide advice and guidance on the operation of established internal policies and procedures in relation to procurement
Develop and implement contract strategies for high value /high risk commodities which will deliver maximum value for money
Able to write both contract strategy documents and contract authorisation reports in a clear, consistent and concise manner
Understand external market conditions and apply these to procurement exercises to ensure best value is achieved by the tender process
Ensure support at user intelligence groups for centres of expertise and other collaborative procurement activities
Meet savings targets
Develop stakeholder management to ensure that internal customers are met with regularly and customer's requirements are being met
The requirements:
Previous experience in a Public Sector Procurement role
Construction category preferred, although other categories will be considered
Experience of delivering Procurement activity and strategy
Strong leadership skills
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
