Projects can vary from small works to £100m across Education, Heritage, High-End Residential, Cultural, Laboratories and more. They have a very modern, open-plan office space and offer excellent opportunities for progression.They are currently seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join their Edinburgh office.

Role

• Leading and managing a team of engineers and technicians
• Overseeing the design, installation and maintenance of mechanical systems in buildings
• Collaborating with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure project requirements are met.
• Developing and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and quality of mechanical systems.
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Managing project budgets and timelines.
• Providing technical expertise and guidance to the team.
• Conducting regular performance evaluations and providing feedback to team members.

Qualfications / Experience

• A bachelor's or masters degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Chartered engineer with CIBSE or IET.
• Extensive experience in the design and installation of mechanical systems in buildings.
• Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in leading teams and overseeing projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to mechanical building services.
• Excellent technical expertise in HVAC systems, plumbing, fire protection and other mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in mechanical design and analysis.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
